Traffic Signal Upgrade Works Coming to Sumners Road

Residents and road users in Jamboree Heights may notice some activity around the intersection of Sumners Road and Spine Street as Brisbane City Council undertakes important traffic signal upgrade works to improve the safety and reliability of the local road network.

The project will involve replacing existing traffic signal poles, upgrading signal lanterns, installing new underground infrastructure, and reinstating any footpaths, kerbing and channel affected during construction.

To minimise disruption to daytime traffic and reduce congestion, the majority of these works will be carried out at night under approved road closure permits. Night works are required due to road closure permit restrictions and to minimise impacts on traffic movements during peak daytime periods.

While every effort will be made to minimise impacts, residents and motorists travelling through the area may experience temporary traffic changes, including minor delays, diversions and detours. There may also be an increase in construction vehicles and machinery, along with some noise and dust associated with the works.

Works are expected to be completed by late October, weather and site conditions permitting.
