2022 Gold Star and Little Stars Reading Club Programs

Encourage your little one’s love of reading through our Gold Star (6-12 years) and Little Stars Reading Program (0-5 years)

It is free to join and there are incentives along the way including receiving a medallion and a certificate of achievement at an awards ceremony at the end of the program. The program runs from Wednesday 1 June and run until Sunday 31 July 2022.

More than 100,000 children have participated since 2004, with programs designed to help our youngest residents discover the joy of reading and develop their language and early literacy skills.

How the programs work

The Gold Star Reading Club is a two month program for children aged 6-12 years.

The Little Stars Reading Club is a two month program for children aged 0-5 years.

From Wednesday 1 June 2022, register your child for the Gold Star Reading Club or Little Stars Reading Club:

at your local library
register online for Little Stars Reading Club or Gold Star Reading Club

Before children can register, they must also be members of the library.

Reading club members will receive a reading map. The reading map includes program information and a reading progress chart.

Prizes and incentives
By reading for a minimum of 10 minutes per day and completing 10 reading challenges, children will receive a medallion and a certificate of achievement at an awards ceremony at the end of the program.
