I have secured funds to create a scooter path at Rod and Mary Burrows Park. This pocket park will come alive with a looped scooter path with heaps of fun and challenging obstacles. I would like to hear your thoughts on what should be included.
The suggestion of a scooter path was to provide variety for locals, as we are installing a large new playground in Narrung Street Park. It will be a small loop pathway with play features (possibly shopfronts) and a swing. It is definitely not a skatepark and aimed to engage children under 10 years. Outline below is an example of the possible track.
A large portion of the track will be ideal for use by toddlers, with some of the additional features being better suited to more confident and older children. The track will be designed with scooters in mind, however, it will accommodate skateboards, bicycles and other non-motorised wheeled craft. There will still be small play features including swings included in the looped pathway.
