I am pleased to announce safety upgrades are coming for the Curragundi Road corridor in Jindalee. This project is a key local initiative being undertaken as part of Council’s Suburban Corridor Modernisation program.
In response to community concerns and collaboration with Jindalee State School and Centenary State High School, we have tailored a plan to enhance corridor safety based on expert recommendations.
Key Upgrades Include:
- installation of six splitter islands,
- relocation of a pedestrian refuge and bus stop on Curragundi Road,
- replacement of the zebra crossing near Arrabri Avenue with a two-staged, protected median crossing,
- introduction of ‘No Stopping’ lines and kerb buildouts at key intersections,
- infrastructure enhancements, including upgraded kerb ramps and improved line markings,
- area beautification with turfing and minor landscaping.
These upgrades aim to boost road safety, improve pedestrian crossing sightlines, enhance road delineation, and promote slower, safer driving conditions.
Consultation is currently being undertaken with the residents directly affected by the proposed enhancements. If you would like any further information about this project, please contact my office.
